Our Goal: $10,000 by September 1, 2016
Since 1975, the Houston Shakespeare Festival, the professional arm of the University of Houston School of Theatre & Dance, has produced two free plays by William Shakespeare each summer at Miller Outdoor Theatre in Houston’s Hermann Park.
By supporting this campaign and HSF 2016, you are ensuring the future of one of Houston’s most beloved cultural institutions.
Houston Shakespeare Festival creates professional opportunities for students. We are passionately committed to our work as a teaching theatre that brings together students and highly skilled theatre professionals. For many UH actors, designers, technicians, dramaturgs, and stage managers, the festival is their first opportunity to work in professional theatre. In addition, the Houston Shakespeare Festival hosts a summer conservatory for high school students, providing invaluable training for aspiring theatre artists.
Houston Shakespeare Festival offers free, high quality arts programming for our diverse community. Of the roughly 25,000 patrons that attend the festival each season, many have never seen live theatre before and may not otherwise be able to attend performances at venues around town. In order to uphold our tradition of producing top-notch theatre free of charge to the city of Houston, the Houston Shakespeare Festival needs your sponsorship for our 2016 season.
Your contribution goes directly towards the costs of presenting our 42nd season: Henry V and Much Ado About Nothing:
